In 2010, Novo Nordisk is organizing a charity donation campaign for the World Diabetes Foundation - "Take Action! Children's Programme".
The donation campaign is being launched at the start of Novo Nordisk's social media activities on Facebook, Twitter and RSS. For every new Healthcare Professional becoming a fan of the NovoMedLink Facebook fan page, following NovoMedLink on Twitter, or subscribing to the NovoMedLink RSS feed, Novo Nordisk will make a donation to the World Diabetes Foundation's "Take Action! Children's Programme".
The World Diabetes Foundation (WDF) is dedicated to supporting prevention and treatment of diabetes in developing countries. WDF focuses on the following area:
- The diabetic foot (prevention of amputations)
- Eye care (prevention of blindness)
- Children with diabetes (nutrition, prevention, education)
- Mothers and diabetes (nutrition, prevention, education)
- The coming generation (primary prevention)
- Diabetes and tuberculosis
